I’ve finally developed most of my film from the Karatsu Kunchi festival a few weeks ago. It is an amazing festival that has continued for hundreds of years. People from the town of Karatsu live for this festival. It consists of teams of people from different parts of town towing amazing and beautiful floats that are over 200 years old through town while chanting either "ENYA, ENYA!" or "YOISA, YOISA!" The atmosphere of this 3 day festival is electric and it is considered a cultural treasure by many.
After the day parade on the second day my friends and I were on our way back to the trains station when I saw the temporary storage place for one of the floats and grabbed this quick shot in the late evening light. I LOVE the way this photo came out.
