Tai

Tai

Red sea bream is a fish often seen in Japanese culture.  It is pronounced "tai" in Japanese and due to it’s similarity to the world omedetai (fortunate), this fish is considered to bring good luck.

One of the floats at Karatsu Kunchi is a huge tai.  During this festival families often buy large expensive tai to feast on.
